The Resort At Pelican Hill is located on the bluffs of Newport Beach with spectacular views overlooking the Pacific Ocean. One of Orange County’s most luxurious wedding venues. Couples getting married here love exchanging vows under the Italian Rotunda, while guests enjoy the panoramic views and gentle ocean breeze. After the ceremony, the cocktail hour is held on the lawn. During this time we take the bride and groom around the property for a romantic photo session. The Mar Vista ballroom is ideal for a grand reception. As a photographer, I love to end the evening with a few sunset portraits with the newlyweds.
5 Tips for a Beautiful Ceremony at Pelican Hill
Unplug Kindly tell your wedding guests that you have hired a pro to photograph the ceremony and that you would like everyone to be in the moment. An easy way to let guests know you are having an unplugged wedding is on the invitation and a nice sign at the ceremony.
Flowers This might be an obvious one but floral placement can make a huge difference. Would you like flowers in your photos when you are under the Rotunda? Walking down the aisle?
Live Musicians Hiring professional musicians creates a classy ambiance during your ceremony. Imagine how beautiful it will sound when your guests find their seats. Don’t forget walking down the aisle to live music is sentimental and a tear jerker.
Customs Don’t forget to incorporate special traditions that are unique to you and your fiance. Getting married under the Chuppah, smashing the glass, the sand ceremony, special poems, or other meaningful gestures to the parents of the bride and groom.
Officiant Of course, you will have an officiant at your wedding but make sure you hire a professional and not a friend or a relative. There are so many reasons to hire a pro. Just to name a few, they are well spoken, know where to stand during the ceremony, familiar with how to use a microphone, and know how to problem solve.
About Daisy and Mike’s wedding at Pelican Hill Resort
Daisy and Mike both grew up in China and came to the states to go to school. They met while in college. It was important to incorporate their Chinese traditions on the wedding day. Daisy wore a beautiful western wedding gown during the ceremony. For the grand entrance, she changed into a stunning navy blue gown. They immediately went into their well-choreographed first dance. Mike surprised Daisey with an intimate song he performed and sang a solo in Chinese. After the speeches and cake cutting, we went outside for a few minutes for sunset portraits where Daisy had one more beautiful gown to change into.

About Casandra and Emanuel’s Wedding Day
The morning started with the bride getting ready with her bridesmaids. As a photographer I always tell couples this is an important part of the day to photograph. It helps tell the full story of your wedding. The couple had a beautiful ceremony at a Church in Los Angeles. From there we headed back to the Millennium Biltmore Hotel where we took romantic photos of the newlyweds in front of the hotel and inside. I loved all the gorgeous details the bride and groom chose for their reception. A couple highlights from their celebration was the live Mariachi band during the reception and the balcony where Casandra had her bouquet toss from.

About Kaylin & Brendon’s wedding
I first met Kaylin & Brendon before their wedding for a fun engagement session. They chose the Lido Marina Village for the location. Which makes perfect sense since the wedding was at the Lido House Hotel. I knew the wedding was going to be a blast after our photo shoot.
I began the day by photographing Kaylin and her bridesmaids in their private cottage at the hotel. We took some family formals there and then headed to the Church. I couldn’t wait to get back to the Lido House with the newlyweds for their romantic photo session.
We continued on to the cocktail hour on the Lido Lawn for a bit. Then prepared for the bride and groom’s grand entrance. This wedding was actually the very first wedding held in the Boathouse Ballroom, which made their first dance extra special. Congrats Kaylin & Brendon and thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding day.

About Rigo & Hilda’s Wedding day
For this LA couple deciding on a venue in Rancho Palos Verdes was easy. Their love for the ocean and beautiful views made Terranea Resort the perfect venue for them. Rigo treated his groomsmen to a charter boat ride around Marina Del Rey. Here they got ready on the boat, had some quality time to spend together while having a blast. Rigo was full of surprises for everyone on the wedding day. The couple exchanged vows at American Martyrs Catholic Church. After the bridal party returned to Terranea Resort we captured this fun group shot of them in front of a custom name and hashtag sign that read #Rig & Hill. Another surprise that Rigo had up his sleeves was the Plane he hired that flew across the sky and said Felicidades Hilda y Rigo.
During the reception, there was a cigar roller, photobooth, and all sorts of live entertainment. The DJ NXT Entertainment kept the party lively. Like I said Rigo had lots of surprises for his bride and guests. He hired a traditional Marimba band, brought tears to his parents’ eyes.

Here you will find many venues that can host a traditional wedding complete with a Mandap and a Baarat. These types of ceremonies are full of religious and cultural experiences. You will witness bold and rich colors everywhere. From the wedding canopy to the bridal party outfits. Expect a loud, vibrant, and emotional day during the ceremony and into the reception.

indian wedding photography
Bridal party getting ready Photographing an Indian wedding begins with the bride getting ready. This usually takes place in a bridal suite. Here we photograph the bridal sari, jewelry, the bride getting makeup and hair done. These photos all help to tell the story. The groom is also photographed at this time in his room.
First Look It is very common for the bride and groom to have a first look before the Baarat.
The Baarat Many photos are taken during this lively and energetic tradition. After the groom gets blessed by the bride’s parents they walk to the ceremony site.
Ceremony Here we continue to take photos of each of the different ceremonies that take place under the Mandap. This usually lasts about an hour.
Formal Portraits After the wedding is over formal portraits of the families with the bride and groom begin.
Reception Grand entrance, first dance, speeches, and cake cutting. More photography coverage continues throughout the reception where there is usually a choreographed dance performance.

I first got to know Delilah and Ryan during their engagement session. We had a fun time at the South Coast Botanic Gardens taking portraits, walking around, and creating beautiful memories. Fast forward to their wedding day. We began the day documenting the bride and groom getting ready at PVGC. The ceremony was held in the Wedding Garden. A perfect summer day. Everyone danced late into the evening. I had a chance to take the bride and groom out for some romantic sunset photos before they cut the cake. Always a pleasure photographing at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
We are talking about Modern Grooms and how to look dapper on their wedding day. Let’s face it, they aren’t really concerned about the details of the wedding day and most of them won’t be reading this blog post. So Brides, let’s get to the point.
The right look for your groom and grooming tips for the wedding day
Go custom with B.Spoke “We want to partner with you to create a wardrobe that is reflective of who you are and how you live your life. We believe that fashion is not about what you wear, but how you wear it, and most importantly why you wear it.”
Know his style Avoid having him try on tuxedos that you love but know he will hate.
Encourage him to try on tuxedos that are in his comfort zone.
After all, you want your Groom to be comfortable on the wedding day.
Again we are talking about comfort.
Your future Husband might not be used to wearing jewelry. To ease him into this let him pick out the ring he will be wearing.
He will be more likely to wear the wedding band every day.
The more grooms are involved in decision making the less they will protest or complain.
We know by now our significant other’s habits and one of them is most likely procrastination. Especially when it comes to haircuts.
So don’t I repeat don’t let your Groom get a haircut the day of the wedding.
It is best to get a haircut a few days before you walk down the aisle.
This will ensure that he looks great.
You are probably thinking how can I give advice to a man about shaving.
Keep in mind it is a stressful time planning a wedding. Even your Groom will be a little stressed.
When using shaving products or hygiene products don’t try out that new cologne or shaving cream the morning of your wedding. He may have a reaction to it being that he is under stress and his ph balance might be off.
