Hi, I'm Christopher Todd Your OC Family Photographer

The walls in my home are covered with family portraits. Seeing those memories forces me to stop and take a moment to reflect on how special my family is to me, and how truly lucky we all are. 

The photos could be from a family adventure or portraits at the local park. Doesn't matter. They just make me feel good. 

It's that feeling of happiness that I strive to create for every family I photograph. So when you sit down in your favorite chair you can gaze upon a past moment in time that brings you a smile.

Kids Portraits

What parent doesn't want amazing photos of their kids at each stage of their development? We are good at getting the posed shots quickly with children, so they get the opportunity to experience the location and we can capture them playing and interacting.

We have a plan for extended family or larger groups so the session is easy and you receive all the different group combinations you want. The most popular shots are photos of the entire group, the grandparents with all their grandchildren, and individual photos of each family.

What Is Photo Retouching?

Retouching is the process by which we make you look amazing. We use computer software programs like Adobe Photoshop to smooth out your skin tone, remove blemishes, make your eyes pop, and even reshape you if necessary. Despite all the fancy computer software and digital techniques, great retouching is an art form.

Good retouchers know when to stop
Overly retouched photos look absolutely terrible. Even clown-like, you know what I'm talking about! Waxy skin and fake looking eyes. A perfectly retouched image should look natural. Great retouching should not be noticeable. It should lurk under the radar of the viewer.

    Most clients spend between $500 and $3000, depending on many factors such as what products are purchased. For a more accurate quote get in touch today.

  • How long does it take to photograph a family?

    Most family photo sessions last 30-90 min.

  • What style are your photos?

    Our style of family photography includes candid, lifestyle, and traditional photography.

  • Do you do candid family portraits?

    YES! Candid or lifestyle family portraits take a different approach with the goal of capturing more natural images that show your family relationships. A candid session is guaranteed to make some memories.

  • Can you do traditional style family portraits?

    YES! Our Traditional style family portraits will feature more images of you looking directly at the camera. Think cheese, but not cheesy.

  • Can you photograph us in a studio, or outside?

    Yes! We are masters in-studio or outdoor locations.  If you're interested in studio photography, just let us know.

  • Can I get the digital files?

    Absolutely. We offer three digital packages. Choose our small package and pick three digital images, the medium package includes 10 digital images, and the large package includes all the digital photos from your gallery. The best part about our digital packages is you don't have to decide what you want till you see the photos.

My goal is to make you and your family look and feel great. I photograph families and children in an Orange County studio or at a location of your choice.


    In Orange County, we have the world at our fingertips. Beaches, mountains, natural parks, and funky eclectic locations to create beautiful portraits all within a short distance of each other.


    Portraiture is my favorite type of photography because of the happiness it brings to my clients. Whether you prefer a traditional style or like a more candid look. I can help you plan an amazing session.


    It is important to consider your goal from the session, such as a giant canvas over your mantle, or some prints for a hallway. Defining what you want from the beginning allows me to meet your expectations. Together we will create a plan for your portrait session that fits your needs.

Best Portrait Locations

Choosing a location for your session can be overwhelming. I can help you pick just the right spot for your family photos. We love taking families to open nature reserves, local beaches, parks, and even right in your own home.

Some locations have parking restrictions or require a permit such as Laguna City beaches, The Anti Mall in Costa Mesa, or Segerstrom Hall.

When you hire Christopher Todd Studios you get more than just a portrait session. We help you with all the logistics from where to go to what to wear, and even how to pose.

Orange County has many great beaches and state parks. Central Park in Huntington Beach is one of my favorite spots.
Upscale or architectural backdrops in the OC are perfect for unique portraits.
Sessions can also be in a studio. This is a great way to get professional photos that are perfectly refined and stand the test of time.
